PERMANENT COSMETICS AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results.  Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected.  This is the purpose of the touchup visit.  Please review the following directions and refer to them as necessary.  If during your healing process you have any questions or concerns, please contact your technician.

Eyeliner - Brows - Lip Liner;  Apply Bacitracin or petroleum Jelly sparingly to the treated area twice a day, once in morning and once in evening, for the next 7 days.

Eyeliner; Rest and relax the rest of the day after the procedure.  Take a break every hour, and apply the Witch Hazel eye pads to your eyes.  Relax for 10 minutes.  Then return the Witch Hazel pads back to your refrigerator.  Repeat throughout the first day or evening as necessary.

1. Ice packs protected with a cloth may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling.  Sleeping slightly elevated helps alleviate swelling sometimes seen the morning after facial procedures.
2. Wash your hands before touching any treated area.  Use only very mild soaps to wash the area and pat dry with clean white paper toweling.
3.Do not expose the area to dirty or unsanitary conditions.  Wearing glasses outdoors is a good way to protect new eyeliner from dust, etc.  Apply recommended healing agents sparingly.
4. Some itching is normal.  DO NOT PICK, PEAL, OR SCRATCH the treated area or color may heal unevenly and you risk scarring and infection.
5. No eye makeup is to applied for 5 days after the procedure.  After any eyeliner procedure, use new mascara.  Do not use eyelash curler, lash tint, or growth products for at least two weeks.
6.  Do not expose your healing skin to direct sun, tanning beds, hot tubs, saunas, salt water, chlorinated pools, direct shower spray, hot water, skin creams, ointments, or lotions other than what you have been instructed to use until the tattooed area is well healed.
7. After a lip procedure, keep your lips moist at all times.  Avoid spicy foods or heat.  If using herpes medication, continue as prescribed.  Do not use teeth bleaching products until fully healed.

LONG TERM CARE
1. Use a good sunscreen daily - Sun exposure will fade your tattoo and may cause irritation even years later.
2. It is in your best interest to use a lip product that does not contain petrolatum.  Choose lib balms that also have an SPF.
3. Refrain from products around your tattoo procedure that contain Retinol, or similar ingredient.  If you are planning chemical exfoliation, MRI, or other medical procedure, please inform your physician of your cosmetic tattoo.
4. If you donate blood, it is the Red Cross policy that you must wait one year after any tattooing procedure in unregulated states - check if restrictions apply to you.
5. Remember all tattoos fade over time and re-coloring your tattoo is necessary from time to time.  We recommend yearly touchups.

Please feel free to call Gwen at 352-726-1100 or Martin at 352-476-1319 with any questions, any time.
